Mobile technology advancements have absolutely changed the way businesses operate, particularly those in the equipment vendor sector. Between mobile sales tools, cloud software, customer relationship management software and more, there is plenty of opportunity for vendors to make use of these helpful technologies. In July 2016, Balboa Capital conducted a comprehensive online survey to gain a better understanding of how equipment vendors are using mobile technology, and how it is impacting their overall business. The survey was sent to over 35,000 equipment vendors in all industries nationwide.
How Many Users?
Roughly 75% of vendor business owners stated that they use a least one type of mobile device (smartphone, tablet, business apps, mobile sales tools, cloud software, etc.) as a part of their overall operations. Of this 75%, all of the equipment vendors stated that their mobile devices are integrated with their back-end systems. In addition, 9 in 10 equipment vendors who use mobile technology state that it is either “important” or “very important” to their overall business operations.
How Often is it Used?
After determining how many equipment vendor businesses utilize mobile tools, we asked them what percentage of their business is conducted through these technologies. Nearly eight in ten respondents indicate using mobile devices to conduct between 50% and 100% of their daily business tasks.
Is Mobile Technology Worth it?
Equipment vendors report that mobile technology is presenting their businesses with a number of key benefits. Among vendors who use mobile technology, the biggest benefits include greater accessibility (72%), more sales leads (59%), faster sales transactions (59%) and improved customer service (41%).
It’s clear that mobile technology is taking the equipment vendor industry by storm, and for good reason. With its many benefits and cost efficiencies, mobile technology can change the way any vendor business operates for the better.
